Q. How does MyGreenPC help me save
Energy?
MyGreenPC is the only remote access
service that allows users to remotely power-down (standby or complete shutdown)
their PCs and then be able to start it again when needed. This way, unlike other
remote pc services, the computer does not need to be left running the entire time
you are away – thus saving electricity. With average PC consumption of 120W, using
this feature and depending on your PC usage you can save upto $10 (or
more) per PC per month.
This literally covers the cost of this service!
For business account with 50 computers,
an average saving of $10 per month per PC * 50 = $500 per month = $6,000
per year in electricity savings!

Q. Is it safe if employees access office PCs remotely using MyGreenPC?
Absolutely! Since MyGreenPC remote access is based
on windows integrated technology, remote session follows same rules/policies as
a local session. This means that the employees have access to the same network
resources, are allowed same privileges on machines they are logged onto, and all
windows security auditing is done as well. Even antivirus software works perfectly
fine!

Q. How easy is it to setup MyGreenPC?
You can setup MyGreenPC on your
PC in less than a minute!
The best thing about our service is that no router/firewall ports need to be opened.
After installation of our small application on the PC (that you want to access remotely)
you may get a message from your software firewall alerting that GreenPCServ.exe
is trying to access internet. Just click yes (also check “remember this action”
or similar option) and you are all set.

Q. Which version is right for me?
Basic: This account provides full-featured but
time-limited access to your computer. This is an ideal option if you just want
to test-drive our remote access service before actually purchasing it or if you very rarely
access your computer remotely.
Premium:
This account is
highly recommended
for most people as it is very
affordable and provides unrestricted access to your computer from anywhere.
Business: Business accounts are available
to corporations who intend to offer remote pc service to their employees – to increase
their productivity or want to remotely manage their pc inventory. The business accounts also
include extra features that allow the account/IT manager to create accounts, manage
access to corporate PCs, and monitor PC usage through easy to use control panel.

Q. What do you mean by Multiple-PCs &
Sub-Users/Accounts?
Multiple PCs: In remote pc access industry,
companies usually charge per PC. So for every PC that you add to your account,
you get charged extra. However, we haven't adapted this pricing system and included 5
PCs in each Premium account. So basically you pay for one subscription and
then whether you have just one, two or more PCs you don't get charged extra for
that.
Sub-Users/Accounts:
This is another unique feature of MyGreenPC, in that we allow you to create
sub-accounts or sub-users. Let's take a typical family scenario, with current
services you have to share the username/password with every person who wants to
remote access their PC. However, with our
service, you simply create a sub-user account (for your spouse, siblings, kids etc) and select
which PCs that user has access to. So now they have their own unique
username/password that they'll use to access the allowed PC(s).
Note that, for security reasons, sub-users have very limited access i.e. they cannot create users, add
computers, or view billing info etc. On the other hand, you will be able to view
their session logs, make changes to profiles, deny access etc - thus allowing you complete
control over sub-users.

Q. What is your Referreral Program?
MyGreenPC’s referreral program is
offered exclusively to active Premium and Business account holders and rewards them for referring
other people (friends, co-workers etc) or businesses to our service. As part
of our Referral program we offer $1-$5 for every person you refer to us, who
successfully signs up for a Premium or a Business account.
Note: If you are a Premium/Business account holder you will see a link "Referral
Program" under your My Account menu. You can find more information regarding our
program through that link.

Q. How can MyGreenPC start a powered-off
Computer? I’ve never heard of this before.
We do get this question
asked a lot and surprisingly not even a lot of Computer professionals are aware
of this feature. Most PCs support
ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) and one of the features supported
by this standard is allowing devices to Power-on the PC even from complete shutdown. The device in our case is the Network Adapter (network/lan card) that supports
Wake-On Lan (WOL) functionality and luckily most of the computers these days have
built-in support for ACPI and WOL. When you send a request to power-on your PC
through our Client software,
our servers instantly send a special packet called magic packet to the network card which signals the PC to power-on. And as soon as
your PC boots our software will display your windows logon screen just as if you
were sitting in front of it.
Please do not contact our support staff regarding hardware configuration – seek assistance
from your hardware vendor.

Q. My PC doesn’t support Wake-on Lan
(WOL), can I still use MyGreenPC to remotely access my PC?
Absolutely! Wake-on Lan feature is only required
to power-on the PC from shutdown/standby/hibernate mode. However, this does not
interfere in anyway with our remote pc access service. You just won’t be able to take
advantage of power-saving features of our service.
